Introduction

Hello and welcome to the Game Development Foundations seminar. My name is Jason and I will be your instructor on this course. While I have been involved in game development for the past 15 years or so, and have been in YWAM for longer than that, I can’t take credit for the concepts and topics we will be covering. These are all ideas that I have come across on my own game development journey, and I consider to be particularly relevant to anyone interested in getting involved in game development, regardless of the specific application. We’ll be covering things like the biblical basis for Art, or for Fun, what makes a game Good, or Christian, as well as a basic overview of some of the tools and skills used in game development. Each unit will contain links to further resources, if you want to investigate the subject more. 

Alongside the course, there is also a Discord server with a community of Christian creatives, where discussion and interaction can happen.

The goal of this course is to help equip Christians to have the language and foundation to engage in the area of Video Games in a holistic and biblical way. I look forward to connecting with you on Discord to unpack what you learn
