Understanding basic design concepts is an essential foundation to any filmmaking, animation, or illustration project. In this course, experienced animator Tod Polson takes us on a journey exploring elements of value, color and shape. Students will put into practice what they have learned by designing a simple poster.

Then professional illustrator Nathan Maetzener will walk us through the creative process of designing characters, covering basic human anatomy, stylization, gesture, and facial expressions.
