This producing course will help you understand the role and job of the producer as we look at project development, pre-production and production of cross cultural filmmaking.
Students will be able to grasp the big picture of what it takes to make a cross cultural movie. They will be able to brainstorm a story idea and pitch it, develop a budget, and deliver a project proposal to a potential project partner.
They will understand the value of a field visit to set-up production requirements ahead of time and to find the best cultural advisor for the job. They will see how important it is for the producer to support the director’s vision for the film and for the entire crew to seek the Lord’s guidance and protection.
Practice writing a story idea for your short film project. Later, when you complete the Short Film Planning Worksheet, you will include a Script Pitch, a short overview of your story idea.
