This introductory course is a basic overview of comics and how this amazing art form can be used as a dynamic, creative communications tool.
A section on theory will analyze and define comics, and look at how iconic abstraction lets the audience participate in the medium. Then the history section will cover the beginnings of comics, introduce some of the pioneering artists, and present significant Christian comics artists. The comics elements section will break down the individual parts, looking at the comics panel, speech balloons, sound effects, and symbols. Finally, the traditional and digital production processes will be discussed.
